Qualcomm hasn't always been content with the development of mobile processors, trying to bring the antenna to the PC, and they've been working on a new chip that comes with a laptop. Recently, foreign media reported that a Geekbench 4 test platform using the MY 8180 processor was exposed.
Roland pointed out that this Geelong 8180 processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 processor that Qualcomm launched for the notebook platform before.
According to the test results on Geekbench 4, the test platform is based on Windows 10 32bit system and configures 8GB running memory, with a single core score of 1392 and a multi-core score of 4286.
We can also see that this Xiaolong 8180 processor uses a 8 core with a main frequency of 1.96GHz. It is worth noting that the performance of the ARM processor running Windows 10 will be lower than that of the mobile version.
Previously, both of them were tested on the Windows 10 platform. At that time, the single-core score was 911, the multi-core score was 3278, the single-core score was 1281 and the multi-core score was 3485. Roland claims that the power consumption of the Qualcomm Xiaolong 8180 chip is 15W and the size of the chip is 2015mm. It may be based on the modified version of ARM Cortex-A75 or A76 architecture.
Since the PC platform processor battle is currently between Intel and AMD, the overall look is relatively dull, but if Qualcomm can join the war, at least in the notebook area you will have a new choice, which will stimulate Intel and AMD, let them pay more attention to this market.
