A new line of rugged DC-DC converters, which feature an ultra-wide 4:1 input and provide 50 to 200W of output power, has been introduced by CUI Europe.
The chassis-mount units are enclosed in an aluminium case measuring 4.25 x 4 x 1.5 inches and include a built-in heat sink for improved thermal performance. The VHK series is seen as ideal for various communications and industrial applications where rugged design is required.
Users can select from an input voltage range of 9 to 36VDC or 18 to 72VDC and output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, or 48DC. The standard operating temperature range is -40C to 85C, with the 50W model operating up to 60C under convection-cooled conditions. Safety features of the VHK series include over-current, over-temperature, input-transient, and short-circuit protections.
Additional features include high efficiency, fast transient response, remote sense, and remote on/off control, says the company.
